TitleProspect of T2K experiment with large detector in Korea

CommentIn this talk, I will show the prospect of T2K experiment with large detector in Korea. The T2K neutrino oscillation experiment, which will start in 2009, is the next generation long base-line neutrino oscillation experiment with J-PARC at Tokai village, and Super-Kamiokande at Kamioka town.
In this experiment the center of the neutrino beam from J-PARC will go through underground beneath SK, reach the sea level between the Japan and Korea.
An off-axis beam at 0.5 degree to 1.0 degree can be observed in east coast of south part of Korea.
We study the physics impacts of putting a 100 kt-level Water Cherenkov detector in Korea during the T2K experimental period.
For a combination of the 3.0 degree off-axis beam at SK with baseline length L = 295 km and the 0.5 degree off-axis beam in the east coast of Korea at L = 1000 km, we find that the neutrino mass hierarchy (the sign of the larger mass squared-difference) can be resolved and the CP phase of the MNS unitary matrix can be constrained uniquely at 3-sigma level when sin^2 2theta_rct > 0.06.osaka.1129.mht(Local Only) osaka.1129.ppt(Local Only)

TitleScalar Laplacian on Sasaki-Einstein Manifold Y^{p,q}

CommentWe study the spectrum of the scalar Laplacian on the five-dimensional toric Sasaki-Einstein manifolds Y^{p,q}. The eigenvalue equation reduces to Heun's equation, which is a Fuchsian equation with four regular singularities. We show that the ground states, which are given by constant solutions of Heun's equation, are identified with BPS states corresponding to the chiral primary operators in the dual quiver gauge theories. Comment標準理論を越える物理の模型の一つとして、UED (Universal Extra Dimension model) がある。この模型は、暗黒物質の候補を持ち、またコライダーでのシグナルが超対称標準模型のそれと酷似しているため、近年注目を集めている。今回この模型において、宇宙の暗黒物質残存量の観測からどのような制限を受けるか、また暗黒物質の検出観測においてどのようなシグナルが期待されるかについて議論する。またこれらの議論がハドロン及びレプトンコライダーを用いた実験にどのような影響があるかについても議論したい。051025matsumoto-shigeki.ppt(Local Only)

CommentAdS5 x S5 超弦理論の可積分性を調べた。Bena, Polchinski, Roiban らが得たものと等価なフラットカレントのワンパラメータファミリーが一般化されたZ_4変換のもとで明白に不変であることを示した。Z_4対称性はこの理論の等長変換PSU(2,2|4)の自己同型なので一般化されたZ_4対称性はカレントの解析を単純化する。また、この理論の正準解析を行った。特に、カレントのポアソン括弧を計算した。このポアソン括弧はシュインガー項を含んだ代数をなすことが分かった。シュインガー項のためにこの系の量子可積分性を知るには更なる解析が必要である。論文:hep-th/0411200 (JHEP 0412 (2004) 055) Ashok Das, Jnanadeva Maharana, A. TitleIntegrable Spin Chain and String/Gauge Theory Duality

CommentOperator mixing in D=4 Supersymmetric Yang-Mills theories provides a new way to test the duality between a gauge theory and a string theory. At least at planar one-loop level, the anomalous dimension matrix, restricted to certain sectors of gauge invariant composite operators that correspond to free (either closed or open) string states, can be identified as the Hamiltonian of an integrable (closed or open) spin chain. Then using the Bethe Ansatz for the spin chain, one can diagonalize the anomalous dimensions and test the string theory predictions for the spectrum. In this talk, we will summarize achievements of recent works along this line of thoughts for exploration of integrable structures in both gauge and string theories, paying particular attention to the open spin chains and string/gauge theory correspondence.

Comment背景磁場中のD2-brane上に置かれたD0-braneは不安定であり、D2-brane上に溶解すると考えられる。この系の開弦理論はSeiberg-Witten極限において非可換ゲージ理論により記述され、D0-braneの溶解は不安定なゲージ場のソリトン解として記述される。D0-braneの溶解過程はnon-BPS D-braneの消滅の場合と異なり、開弦自由度の消滅の困難を伴わない。本講演においてはゲージ場の運動方程式を数値的に解くことにより、ソリトン解が非可換平面上で拡散していくこと確かめる。さらに行列模型において導出された形式をもちいてD-brane電荷、基本弦電荷、エネルギー密度の分布を見積もり、これらの分布がタキオン凝縮の過程とともにD2-brane上において拡散していく様子を見る。また進行中の関連した研究について議論する予定である。050719osaka.ps(Local Only)
